Two-factor authentication is mandatory for Epic Games store free games. Epic has announced that two-factor authentication will be essential for redeeming free games through Epic Games from April 28 to May 21.
The goal is to increase the security of Epic game store users, they say. Two-factor authentication is another way to verify your identity by logging into your account after you provide username and password, either through the e-mail address you add or the pin number you receive.
You can enable this by going to your Epic Games Account settings and they will provide you with full details on the Epic Games Support page.
In January 2019, a security vulnerability caused a group of hackers to access Epic Games user accounts via Fortnite by clicking a suspicious link.
Also, just a few days ago, Nintendo acknowledged that 160,000 users had attempted to hack into it and Epic says it has taken steps to protect its customers from such incidents.
